Electric guitars: compare the working parts
Body shape gets attention first, but neck dimensions, scale length, pickups and bridge usually have more impact on how an electric guitar works for a particular player. A slim neck is not automatically “faster”, and a longer scale is not automatically “better” for low tunings; both need to be considered with string gauge, setup and playing technique.
Solid-body guitars dominate the category, while semi-hollow and hollow designs add different construction and resonance. Weight and balance also matter, especially for players who spend long periods standing.
Pickup layout changes the available sounds and wiring
Single-coils, humbuckers and P-90-style pickups differ in construction, physical format and noise behaviour. Active systems add powered electronics; piezo or hybrid systems can provide a second signal path. The useful question is not which pickup type is universally best, but whether the guitar offers the switching, output and response your rig requires.
If pickups have been replaced, check routing, mounting, pot values and wiring rather than assuming a drop-in swap. Muviber's Parts and accessories section is the relevant place for replacement components.
Bridge choice affects setup and maintenance. A fixed bridge is generally straightforward to restring and intonate. Traditional tremolos, two-point systems and double-locking designs add adjustment points and can react more strongly to a change in string gauge or tuning. On a used guitar, make sure the hardware is complete and that adjustment screws, saddles and locking parts are not damaged.
Scale length belongs in the same conversation. It changes fret spacing and, with the same string and pitch, the tension required. That is one reason two electric guitars with similar specifications can feel quite different.
Used electrics: separate cosmetic wear from functional wear
Finish marks can be harmless. Fret wear, neck problems, loose hardware, intermittent controls or an unstable bridge are more relevant because they may require immediate work. Ask for clear photos and a list of modifications. If the guitar has non-original pickups or tuners, identify the exact parts and whether the originals are included.
For transport and storage, compare Guitar accessories rather than treating the case or stand as an afterthought.
